About Me
I guess I would say that I am a student of life, but then aren't we all? As long as I am learning something I am okay, I hate stagnation. I have a tendency to move too fast and need to slow down more. I'm a programmer and get real grumpy when I don't have enough sleep which has been happening a lot lately.
Music
I love Celtic music. My favorite songs are haunting melodies sung in Gaelic. But I listen to all kinds of music - everything from rock to classical and all that is in between, it just depends on my mood.
Movies
I like all kinds of movies, but my favorites are of the fantasy genre. I like a good ghost story, but those are hard to find. I prefer to let my imagination fill in the blanks and I hate too many special effects. A little goes a long way.
TV
Not too much on T.V. that I care for. I do watch Bill Maure. He goes over the top sometimes, but that is what's great about him. At least he makes you think. I like the History Channel and watch Ghost Hunters on Sci-Fi and Man Against Wild.
Books
Reading is my passion. I love a good book. My whole family is this way. My favorite authors are R.J. Stewart, John and Caitlin Matthews, and Charles De Lint.
Likes
Moonlight, the smell of rain on the air, Fog, the way I feel in the Spring, the energy of lightning, cool crisp Autumn days and the way each wood has a different smell and taste (you taste it when you are working with it - Poplar makes me hungry - don't know why). Hot chocolate.
Dislikes
Getting up early, drama and people who use others instead of standing on their own two feet.
Hobbies
Wire Sculpture Jewelry, Woodburning, wood working and writing.
Vices
Chocolate and caffiene. Too much caffiene.
Virtues
I can usually see both side of the argument and I am straight shooter.
Heroes
Those who stand up for civil rights and see that sometimes the right thing to do isn't always the easiest thing to do.
In case anyone can't tell, I am horrible at blogging. But I have been
meaning to get on here and post some photos of interesting phenomenon
in my backyard. Early spring two rows of burnt grass appeared around my
vegetable garden. It was strange because of its formation, 6 circles on
one side and five on the other, all about the same size, all evenly
spaced apart. Eventually they went away, but then the triangles
appeared. Two triangles of burnt grass , one larger, one smaller. After
that, no more burnt circles. But now, at the Summer Soltice, 5 burnt
circles appeared and they are in the shape of a pentagon. Okay, now, I
know that grubs can destroy your grass, but do they do it in geometric
shapes? A dog peeing in the grass can also burn it, but my dog is not
so talented as to pee that many times all in one night, in a geometric
pattern. So, I have a question. Anyone out there have an explanation?
I'm stumped.
That aside, my yard is a veritable cornucopia of abundance this year. My fruit trees are loaded (I have a small orchard) and looking wonderful, I discovered wild grapes on my property, and the Mulberry trees are almost red they have so many fruits on them. The vegetable garden is looking good (so are the weeds!) and I have discovered the most wonderfule smelling rose. It is a pink rose that has such a strong sent, like perfume, that you just don't get from the hybrid roses anymore. I also dicovered Elderberry trees growing in a mound that is just off of my property. I'm surrounded by farmland but there is a mound that is really wild and over grown that the farmer did not till just off the back of my yard. I'm very excited about the Elderberries cause I love Elderberry jam! I've been having loads of fun looking and discovering new things in my backyard.
I've discovered all of this just in the past couple of weeks. We are getting ready to perform the Summer Solstice ritual out in my circle at the back of the property tonight. It should be a great ritual. The fireflys are finally out and they light up the back yard with hundreds of tiny yellow lights. It all looks very magical. I hope everyone has a happy Summer Solstice and a wonderful summer as the earth blossoms with her bounty and ripens over the next few months!

I love to be creative. I make wire-wrapped pendants and do woodburning. I also love to do woodworking and make boxes (which I end up wood burning. I added some photos of my work to the gallery.
I have been a practicing witch for 20 years. I started out reading everything I could get my hands on. I've read the good, the bad and the ugly. I had a friend who owned a New Age bookshop and I found books on Kaballah, Ceremonial Magic, Wicca, Astrology, Tarot. I learned to cast astrological charts, became a professional Tarot Card reader, joined the Rosicrucian Order, went through all the levels of Reiki to become a Reiki Master, studied Tai Chi (nice compliment to Reiki) and pretty much stuck with High Magick (Ceremonial) and the Kaballah. I always seemed to have a problem with it all though, and basically what was going through my mind was "What am I doing all this for?" I felt that I was spread too thin and was focusing my attention on areas I didn't need to be focusing on. I didn't see a need to cast spells for love or money (elbow grease and introspection seemed better tools). Ceremonial Magic worked for me on quite a few levels but I still wasn't getting the connection I wanted. There was something else, something more that I wanted. There was a yearning burning deep inside me and I was hunting for the answer to it, but looking in all the wrong places. But when you are doing it by yourself, you hunt and you peck, you dig and then you dig deeper. Then about 7 years ago I took a class on basic shamanism from the Foundation For Shamanic Studies. That started me down a path I finally felt truly connected with and I felt like I had come home. I read anything by R.J. Stewart and practice it as well. Journeying is the ticket. It takes me where I need to go. Now I am working on forging my own path and my own connectedness and I am where I need to be.
